My body
2022/2023
In the photo project “my body,” I started to focus on the theme of the body and the subject of “how we feel in our bodies and look at other people’s bodies.” My research question, “Is it okay for me as a maker to engage with this theme and subject and ask someone to pose for the camera when I myself don’t even dare and have never done it?”, was the common thread for this project. I wanted to do this because I think it is important to change ‘the view’ of the body.
With this project, I wanted to explore how vulnerable our bodies are and how we look at them. I invited people to look at others and themselves without judgment.
The final work is a mixed media installation with written letters from the persons portrayed, printed photography and interactive elements.
